The average gambler enters the front door of the casino sometimes feeling like he or she is entering the “Lion’s Den.” They know that the house has a fixed “house edge” on every bet that they will place on this visit.
All the experts tell you that while you may be able to win in the short term, you are doomed to lose long term. Maybe it would just be easier to just drop all the money you brought to gamble with into a donation box inside that front door. Lol.
No, we go to the casino for the adventure, the action and the hope of leaving a winner. Are the cards totally stacked against the player every time they go to play their game of choice? Absolutely not.
As a customer/player in the casino you have a large number of options which even the casino does not enjoy.
First you can play or not play. If you make a bet the casino must match it.
You can vary the size and timing of your wagers. The casinos must match and mirror your ever move but you are the one who makes the first move when you place your bet.
If you start losing wagers at the roulette table or the blackjack or craps table, you can stop betting.
If you get lucky and start winning bet after the bet, the casino cannot stop accepting your bets, it must handle every single one of them.
If you do not like the service or atmosphere of the casino you are in, in most parts of the country, you can go to another casino.
When you get tired, you can take a break – the casino can’t which is why there are regular dealer changes about every hour.
You can even control the speed or pace of the game which is the subject of an upcoming post I have in the wings.
If you are going to gamble, it is wise to play the most player favorable games.
I have written another post called “Why The Smart Players Play Baccarat.”
I encourage you to read it…especially you blackjack players.
